The Courses
St Mellion’s Nicklaus Signature Course and the vastly improved Kernow course (previously the Old Course) get along famously.
On the Nicklaus course with its towering trees, valleys and gentle brooks, it is easy to lose yourself in the mythical beauty of the lush Cornish landscape and even easier to lose your golf ball in the thick rough. For behind this beauty lies the beast. With its relatively small greens and tight fairways, this course provides a truly challenging round of golf. But it is a beast that is tamed as much by finesse as power. With hole after hole of unparalleled beauty, it is a feast for the senses and an outstanding test of golfing ingenuity.
With its wide, sweeping fairways and generous greens, the recently remodelled Kernow course places entirely different demands on the golfer and is the perfect companion to its younger sibling. This 6,000-yard parkland course was the original course at St Mellion. Now completed updated, with 9 completely new holes, it is a true test of golf and is a wonderful, picturesque and enormously popular golf course that deserves to be celebrated in its own right.
